This splendid piece of furniture resembles the hard cracked surface of a desert floor. Designed by Anna-Lisa Fondato, an industrial designer
based in Florence, Italy, the concept gives the bench a visually striking aesthetic. Instead of an unforgiving seat, it gives way to the weight of the sitter for added comfort. This is made possible by the use of high-density flexible polyurethane foam that lies just beneath the teak wood.
The adapting surface of Take a Seat by Anna-Lisa Fondato, in collaboration with Flavia Balzoni takes into consideration the stemming from an awareness of real relational developmental changes due to the proliferation of social networks. Fondato has given it a mechanical softness that is pleasantly unexpected.
