This is a unique blend of the water tap concept and 3D print prototyping to potentially revolutionize the water tap. ECAL student Alice Spieser reimagines the standard water tap that will leave you scratching your head as to why somebody didn’t think of it years ago!Spieser’s simple design looks like a minimalist water tap, but functions both as faucet for a sink and drinking fountain. The tap ends with openings pointing both downward and upward.
The upward-angled spigot is positioned so that, gravity pulls the water down through the opposite opening. If you place a finger over the bottom hole, water springs upward in an arc for easy drinking.
The “Down Up” is both convenient and environment friendly. Spieser has partnered with KWN taps of Switzerland to design the tap’s valve, an elegant disk design. The rest is 3-D printed from her simple specifications. It can be easily installed in any standard bathroom or kitchen sink.
