15 Minutes Fire Proof Bedroom

Your bedroom is actually the most lived-in area of your house.

Well, here are some creepy facts about bedrooms that’ll force you to do our 15 minute hack of equipping your room with the necessities to fight fire.

Fires cause 25 percent of home deaths and bedrooms are also the most common starting point for fires set by kids, because children who play with fire usually experiment in places like underneath their beds and in closets.

1. Install efficient and portable safety devices

Install a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. This is the first and foremost thing you need to do to protect your home.

2. Keep flashlights and whistles handy

Keep a flashlight and whistle on hand, which will definitely help you attract attention from an open window and save yourself by drawing the attention of neighbours.

3.  Stay smart about candles.

Monitor all candles while they are lit and never light them when you’re sleepy.

4. Include a phone in every bedroom.

Every room should be equipped with phones (one phone connection can be spread into different communication lines) so that you can call an emergency phone number when necessary. Attached to each phone should be the emergency number for that particular community.

 5. Turn off unnecessary gadgets while sleeping

Only use space heaters while awake. Make sure such devices have the UL rating (Underwriters Laboratories), and have a tilt safety switch that will shut off the heater if it accidentally tips over.
